Active Listening.

  1. Define and describe Active Listening.
  2. Describe how it is used in the therapeutic setting.
  3. Provide examples of how you personally use active listening in your work situations.
  4. Discuss the results of your personal active listening inventory, identifying you strengths and areas for improvement.
  5. Discuss at least two or more personal communication changes you will make to improve your active listening skills.
  6. Your assignment:

  7. Must be two- to three- pages in length (not including title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
  8. Must include a cover page with:
    1. Name of paper
    2. Student’s name
    3. Course name and number
    4. Instructor’s name
    5. Date submitted
  9. Must include an introductory paragraph with a succinct thesis.
  10. Must address the topic of the paper with critical thought.
  11. Must conclude with a restatement of the thesis and a conclusion paragraph.
  12. Must use at least three scholarly sources (including the textbook).  At least one of your sources must be a scholarly, peer-reviewed journal article
  13. Must use APA style as outlined in your approved style guide to document all sources.
