discussion question:

One of the issues faced this week is the notion of what is a “personality” and how is it defined. In your view and based on the reading, how would you define it??

Hello, class.

Based on the reading and my understanding of the topic, I would define personality as personal characteristics, which could be influenced by situations and time.

Obviously, personality is very important because sometimes it can predict a person’s behavior. But it is necessary to understand that any of us can have completely different behavior, communicating with different groups of people.

More than that, one more example, which makes me think that personality depends on the situation is that there is no secret that the relatives of the most cruel criminals usually characterize them as kind and helpful people. In my view, it proves that personalities are individual behavioral patterns, which can be influenced by the situation or experience.
