Synthesis Paper

Throughout the semester you have completed and interpreted a number of assessment instruments and assignments, participated in discussions, and focused on a number of readings.

Now it is time to put it all together.

This assignment is an opportunity for you to think about what you have learned and plan how you will take action with your new-found knowledge. Approach your plan as a chance to synthesize what you have learned about yourself, others, and good management.

Now, envision yourself in a current (or future) management or leadership role. Reflecting on your work this semester, in a 3 to 5 page essay (type your essay in Word and then cut and paste into the box below, it is okay that the formatting of your paper changes when you cut and paste)double spaced, 12 point font, answer the following questions:

1.      What are the most important ideas about management that you will take away from this course?

2.      Identify three assignments and discuss how each one has specifically influenced your management development.

3.      What are your greatest strengths as a leader or manager?

4.      Where can you improve? How do you plan to improve? Be specific.
